Risks

When we have nothing to lose we risk everything
We allow ourselves to be totally vulnerable.

Just a small token of something (something we may not even value)
And taking risks or feeling vulnerable is no longer worth the risk to achieve what our heart desires.

We remain poles apart
We cling to the identity we strive to escape from.

In love we risk everything.
We lay ourselves totally naked, every pore, every single cell is laid out before the person we long to give ourselves to.

Yes.

This is painful.

The risks seem greater than a nuclear holocaust
Right up to the end we may be rejected
And if we are
Latter we may try again
A little more cautiously
With a little less trust
It gets harder
It takes longer
And if we blink, our heart misses a beat
What we are searching for has passed us by.
